Process Development Scientist I/IIWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Process Development Scientist to join our Cloning & Fermentation Development Team at New England Biolabs (NEB). The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing and optimizing processes for bacterial and yeast expression systems, contributing to the production of recombinant proteins for various applications.
Primary Responsibilities: Utilize advanced cloning techniques to engineer recombinant DNA for the overexpression of target proteins in bacterial and yeast expression systems, particularly Pichia and E. coli.Design and implement strategies for strain improvement to enhance process stability.Analyze and interpret data to identify trends and make recommendations for process improvements.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Research, Fermentation, and Purification teams, to ensure seamless integration of processes.Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records and documentation.Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to bacterial and yeast expression systems.Stay current with advancements in expression technologies and apply new techniques to enhance process efficiency.Present findings and progress reports to the team.Required Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's or master's degree in microbiology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or a related field.1-4 years of hands-on experience working in a molecular biology laboratory.Proficiency in molecular cloning techniques, including isolation of gDNA and RNA, PCR, restriction digestion, and ligation.Working knowledge of E. coli and Pichia physiology and genetics.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills within a team environment.Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Preferred Qualifications and Experience: Experience with high-throughput cloning and expression screening.Experience with baculovirus or mammalian protein expression technologies.Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and software.Knowledge of protein purification and characterization techniques. #J-18808-Ljbffr
