About the RoleThis role is intended to support Suncorp Bank which will join the ANZ Group on completion. Completion of ANZ's acquisition of Suncorp Bank remains subject to legislative amendments by the Queensland Parliament and approval by the Federal Treasurer. Assuming these conditions are satisfied, completion of the acquisition is expected to occur in or around mid-calendar year 2024.
As a Privacy Officer supporting Suncorp Bank, you'll play a key role in helping toprovide specialist advice which relates to implementation of the Suncorp Bank Privacy Policy and supporting standards, compliance with the Privacy Act and mandatory reporting of data breaches.This role will also provide input into submissions on regulatory and industry change.

Role Schedule: Full-time, 40hrs/week
What will your day look like?This role will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Provide advice to the business on interpretation and implementation of frameworks and policy.Provide advice to the business based on insights derived from internal and external data trends and forecasts.Provide oversight of the implementation of Privacy frameworks and policy.Contribute to the success of the overall Bank CRO team through contribution to the leadership team and working fluidly on the overall team's priorities.Assistthe Executive Manager Compliance Advisory to manage and promote effective stakeholder engagement and relationship management by providing strategic and specialist second line of defence oversight and compliance advice regarding the compliance management practices of the Bank's business portfolios.Be a trusted advisor in the delivery of pragmatic and commercially focused compliance advice to the business, CRO teams, relating to business as usual, projects, regulatory change and continuous improvement of compliance management practices.Provide effective specialist oversight across the Bank's business portfolios including in relation to monitoring of compliance control effectiveness, governance arrangements, compliance plans and controls.Provide strong subject matter expertise on the regulatory compliance environment, obligations, licences and key projects.Support the breach management framework including assessment of regulatory reporting requirements relevant to breaches, advice to breach committees regarding breach incidents, rectification and remediation activities and support to develop regulatory breach notifications provided by the relevant business portfolio.Assist the Executive Manager Compliance Advisory to manage ASIC and APRA license administration activities and authorisations relevant to the business portfolio, including supporting Responsible Manager processes.Collaborate with compliance teams and stakeholders across the Suncorp Bank to share insights and promote continuous improvement and consistency of approach in relation to compliance management practicesWhat will you bring?To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
Extensive years of regulatory compliance, risk management, legal or commercial experience in the financial services industry.Strong technical knowledge of Australian Privacy requirements, regulatory guidance, industry codes and related processesStrong collaboration and team skills. A demonstrated ability to bring together people and foster a productive culture across businessesAble to manage priorities and conflicting issues in a professional/risk-based mannerProven ability to innovate and adapt to latest development in area of expertiseProven experience in dealing effectively with senior management.
