We have an exciting opportunity in our Privacy Team as Privacy Advisor.
The Privacy Advisor role will be part of a cohesive and skilled team with responsibility for promoting a culture of privacy within eHealth NSW. The Privacy team is an innovative team that encourages continuous learning and improvement. This role will support the Head of Privacy role in the co-ordination of privacy impact assessments, the development of fit for purpose templates, processes, policies and procedures and carry out regular reporting on privacy compliance.
The Privacy Advisor will engage with a broad range of stakeholders to provide advice and guidance on privacy by design solutions, comment on significant policy issues and assist with the delivery of targeted privacy training and education across all levels of the organisation.
What you will do
This role will assist with monitoring and responding to freedom of information requests, privacy risks, promoting training and education to relevant staff on privacy matters including release of information in line with relevant legislation.
Drive a culture of professional development and continual improvement and ensure high quality work is delivered and timeframes for responding to correspondence, briefs and requests for assistance are met. Assist with the management and investigation of individual complaints and investigations regarding agency compliance, decisions and practice relating to the requirements of the GIPA Act and Privacy legislation Assist with the design and delivery of education and training programs and guidance material for internal stakeholders and clients to build capacity and facilitate the provision of quality services and a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Manage complex, contentious, or sensitive matters and administrative activities and provide advice and guidance to identify risks and mitigation risk strategies to address short and longer term implications for eHealth NSW Support the development of key governance, process and procedure documentation to underpin the discharge of legislative and policy responsibilities of eHealth NSW. Contribute to the design and development of strategies, plans and programs and fit for purpose reporting to ensure optimal delivery of operational priorities and efficient effective provision of advice and guidance. Respond to applications for access to information lodged under the GIPA Act and / or the privacy legislation About you
You will hold an appropriate qualification or equivalent experience in law, privacy or information access experience. Preferably, experience in responding to Privacy Cases and correspondence. Demonstrated experience in and superior knowledge of applying relevant privacy legislation to relevant matters with stakeholders. Preferably experience in conducting Privacy Compliance reporting in line with GIPA requirements. Superior organisational skills and prior experience working in a high demand environment. Preferably with experience in designing content for Privacy Workshops or Focus Groups. Excellent analytical skills including the ability to analyse and interpret complex information from multiple sources, prepare and present analysis and reports, manage challenges creatively and achieve business focused solutions.
