This role will provide expert quality assurance and support for Queensland Health's (QH) strategic workforce planning framework by offering guidance on technical, data, business procedures, and workforce planning methodologies. Key responsibilities include responding to enquiries, assisting the Manager, Workforce Planning in coordinating team efforts across departmental divisions and Hospital and Health Services (HHS), and helping to develop workforce and action plans aligned with the QH Workforce Strategy. Additionally, you will create and distribute contemporary training materials, lead promotional activities to encourage the adoption of strategic workforce planning practices, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and execution of workforce initiatives and policies.
The role also involves applying research methods, adhering to legislative requirements, and overseeing the performance of the strategic workforce planning program against project plans and budgets. You will build strategic alliances, fostering the exchange of critical workforce data across QH, and contribute to improving practices, processes, and strategies to meet the objectives of the Workforce Strategy Branch. Additional responsibilities include preparing reports, submissions, and other documentation, supporting workforce planning forums and workshops, and ensuring compliance with service quality standards and occupational health and safety policies to maintain safe and high-quality workplaces.
The successful person To excel in this role, you will need strong negotiation skills to secure favorable outcomes and build productive relationships with stakeholders. You should also demonstrate excellent oral and written communication abilities, including drafting complex briefings and reports, and providing expert advice to senior management and government officials.
Additionally, you will bring strong communication, interpersonal, consultation, and negotiation skills, enabling you to effectively influence stakeholders and drive results. You should also be adept at applying relevant policies, legislation, standards, and frameworks to workforce planning and policy, while quickly acquiring knowledge specific to the health workforce and system.
