About The Role:
Join us as a Principal Work Health and Safety Advisor and play a pivotal role in representing our client, ensuring compliance with WH&S legislation and fostering a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert technical advice, guidance, coaching, and support on WH&S matters to stakeholders.
Oversee rehabilitation and Workers Compensation Claims, ensuring compliance with legislation.
Manage and maintain Safe Work Procedures, Safety Management System, SWMS, and registers.
Monitor compliance with WH&S legislation and refine performance indicators.
Supervise and mentor the WH&S team, conduct performance reviews, and identify training needs.
Develop, coordinate, and manage WH&S training and inductions.
Identify safety performance improvements and contribute to workplace ergonomics.
Develop, coordinate, and manage hazard/risk assessments and inspection systems.
Oversee investigation and reporting of workplace incidents, injuries, and illnesses.
Monitor effectiveness of safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
Participate in WH&S committee and provide incident statistics reports.
Manage internal and specialist WH&S audits, inspections, and audits as per schedule.
Represent the organisation in matters related to external WH&S authorities.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Occupational WH&S or equivalent qualification.
ICAM certification or willingness to obtain.
Valid driver's license.
Extensive experience in a similar role, preferably in a large organisation.
Detailed knowledge of WHS legislation, standards, and codes of practice.
Experience in managing worker rehabilitation and return-to-work programs.
Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
Excellent communication skills for reports and presentations.
