The Opportunity As a member of KBR's Water Resources team in Qld, you will have the opportunity to be involved in a wide variety of challenging projects. You will contribute to the success of KBR's National Water Resources team by being responsible for leading and growing (in terms of capacity and technical capability) the Qld Water Resources team including junior staff and highly experienced professionals.
Your team will conduct a range of water resources projects including hydrological and hydraulic investigation and design for a wide range of studies including rural and urban flood studies, transport infrastructure, floodplain management, water balance modelling, and stormwater management.
They will also produce technical models and reports to a high standard, contributing to KBR's reputation for the delivery of quality project outputs.
You will build strong relationships with your team members, other disciplines, clients, and KBR's leadership team. You will contribute to budgets and plans, management of stakeholders and interaction with regulatory authorities.
You will work with a national group of highly regarded industry practitioners who value technical expertise and innovation. You will apply practical on-the-ground problem solving and engineering solutions and work with our clients collaboratively to deliver successful outcomes.
Who are you? We are looking for a skilled and passionate technical professional who wants to continue to progress their career and lead and grow a team of professionals.
You will have the following skills and experience:
10 – 15 years' recent local experience on projects within the Queensland Reconstruction Authority Flood Risk and Resilience body of works as well as infrastructure design. Knowledge of the Queensland Flood Risk Management Framework including the up-to-date best practice in flood modelling. Knowledge and understanding of federal, state and local legislation, regulatory frameworks, guidelines and policies, and experience applying it to achieve practical outcomes in the field of water resources in Australia. Experience in numerical modelling (hydrology, hydraulics and groundwater), including TUFLOW, URBS, RORB, XP-RAFTS, HEC-RAS, MUSIC, GOLDSIM and solid experience with GIS applications (QGIS, ArcGIS, MapInfo). Experience in preparation of bid budgets, writing proposals and business development activities would be highly regarded. Chartered professional engineer (CPEng) or ability to achieve this status in 6 months of starting. Hold an accredited bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
