Be a part of the Statewide Groundwater Leadership team which provides technical advice and support to internal stakeholders on all aspects of groundwater within the state of Queensland.

The Role:
This role is part of the leadership team within Statewide Groundwater which is responsible for providing technical advice and support to internal stakeholders on all aspects of groundwater within the state of Queensland. Specific tasks may include involvement in EIS Assessments for Major Projects, input to the development and review of Water Plans, input and advice on the development and review of groundwater models across the State, advice on complex issues associated with groundwater licensing and bore log reviews, mentoring, skills development and assisting with succession planning activities.
About You:
· Coordinate and support the operations of a team delivering technical advice on the assessment and management of groundwater across Queensland.
· Prepare, communicate, consult and negotiate with internal and external clients in the delivery of groundwater advice on technical reports, workflows, documentation and memos, and develop options and approaches for the resolution of contentious issues.
· Provide timely and accurate advice on project actions, and for the preparation of complex briefs, reports and other correspondence related to groundwater management and use.
· Oversight team outputs, including reports and correspondence to ensure quality outcomes, sound conclusions and consistent application of groundwater technical advice to water management procedures, policy and legislation.
· Proven ability to rapidly adapt to change and refocus direction on specific key departmental priorities in accordance with departmental deliverables.
· Develop and maintain constructive working relationships and networks with clients, stakeholders, and project teams across Queensland for the delivery of groundwater technical advice.
· Review water policy and planning proposals, identify risks and provide recommendations to support the implementation of business priorities with particular emphasis on groundwater management and use across Queensland.
· Represent the department in a technical capacity at a range of community and water forums.
· Resolve complex technical issues to find solutions for clients supported by evidence and sound decision making.
· Other duties as directed and required.
· Mandatory Requirement - A degree qualification or higher in either hydrogeology, groundwater modelling, geology, hydrology, engineering, geoscience, science or applied science.
· Driving Government vehicles to conduct the business of the department may be required.
· Travel away from the individuals home centre may be required. This may involve travel outside of normal office hours and/or overnight accommodation.
