As a member of the Global Technology Services (GTS) division, you will contribute to all aspects of the technology products and services we deliver, from technical strategy and design to coding to deployment to operation. As a Principal Systems Engineer, you will be a technical leader within the Virtual Hosting crew responsible for the safe, sound and secure delivery and operation of infrastructure and PaaS services hosted within our on premise data centres. The Principal Engineer is a senior individual contributor, and is needed to lead and influence our platforms' strategic directions. The design, build and run of our platforms and our world class products and services through engineering effective solutions to our problem spaces.
We're Interested in hearing from people who Provide strategic leadership in shaping the technical vision for site reliability and DevOps automation, driving innovation and best practices across our crew and the Group.Lead and collaborate with platform engineering squads to enhance system reliability, performance, and scalability through the implementation of DevOps & SRE type practices.Lead the creation and maintenance of advanced automation solutions for continuous integration, deployment, monitoring, and incident response, ensuring a high level of system reliability and operational efficiency.Spearhead the development and implementation infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions using differing tools and software, ensuring consistent and reproducible infrastructure deployments.Mentor and coach team members, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning within the SRE and DevOps community.Champion the establishment and improvement of monitoring and alerting systems, employing tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, to proactively identify and address performance issues.Drive post-incident reviews and root cause analyses, implementing preventative measures to enhance overall system resilience.Collaborate with security teams to integrate security best practices into the CI/CD pipelines, platform, and applications.Participate in on-call rotations, responding to incidents, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing preventive measures. Good to have experience in domain such as: Technology/software start-ups.Financial sector.Software and cloud service providers.Systems Integrators, and service providers.Telecommunications.Large complex environments and businesses, from a people processes and technology aspect.
