We currently have a full-time, permanent opportunity for a Principal, Sustainability to join our collaborative and supportive team. This role will enable you to have influence and impact on Perenti's sustainability initiatives.
Reporting to the Vice President Safety and Sustainability, you will work with Corporate, operational HSE and Sustainability professionals, Corporate and other Perenti business entities, and key membership organisations to support the continual improvement in sustainability performance of Perenti. Moreover, you will assist in the development and maintenance of sustainability-related processes and initiatives.
Key Accountabilities will include: Develop and partner with the operating business to embed social performance expectations, including those related to human rights, community and Indigenous engagement and community investment.Provide expert advice across the Group on sustainability issues, trends and developments.Convene the internal community engagement steering group.Develop and review internal and external sustainability communications as necessary, including the corporate website, magazine articles and social media posts.Represent Perenti Sustainability at external industry forums and on membership committees or industry bodies.Undertake site inspections and audits as required with a focus on the Sustainability Standard.Lead the development of the company-wide Sustainability strategic objectives, policies and standards, and initiatives.Drive enhanced disclosure practices and investor / ESG rating agency engagement.Support the development and execution of group-wide sustainability plans, including those related to decarbonisation, environmental management, community engagement and investment.Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in environmental and sustainability management across the Group.Lead the development of sustainability materials for the Safety and Sustainability Committee of the Board and Group Executive Committee (GEC).Develop and coordinate internal awareness campaigns with a focus on embedding sustainability across the Group.Lead the preparation of sustainability disclosures including the Annual Sustainability Report and Modern Slavery Statement.Key skills and experience required for you to thrive in this role will include: Tertiary qualifications in Environment/Sustainability/Social related discipline or equivalent experience.A minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role, ideally within a corporate environment, though not essential.Between 8-10 years of post-graduate experience in environmental/sustainability/community relations management, ideally within the resource industry.Proven ability and adaptability in interacting with a variety of stakeholders up to Group Executive and Board Member level.Exceptional level of communication, influencing, engagement and negotiation skills.Excellent attention to detail, demonstrated in prior experience with corporate governance, data and reporting.What we offer: Located close to public transport in a great central location.Flexible, hybrid working arrangements.A competitive remuneration package, with discretionary, performance-based incentives.Paid parental leave.Employee support services.Regular pulse-checks and employee surveys.Commitment to your ongoing development, including on-the-job opportunities.Relocation assistance (if required).This is a full-time, permanent opportunity, based near the Perth CBD.About Us: Perenti is an ASX listed, diversified mining services group with interests in contract mining, drilling services, mining services and technology solutions.
