QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government. It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities.
About The Role You will play a pivotal role in supporting QBuild's ambition to strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry by overseeing and coordinating a suite of tasks associated with program development, design management, cost planning, tendering, estimating, contract administration and program management of new construction works.
Duties And Skills Involved Leading and managing resources to ensure QBuild services are delivered efficiently and effectively, meeting the expectations of the client, and are considered good value for money. Resolving resourcing issues whilst ensuring operational areas continue to achieve a high level of quality in the delivery of services. Overseeing the engagement, management and coordination of contractors to ensure performance complies with contract requirements and meets prescribed standards (including workplace health and safety, asbestos and tenant issues), as well as ensuring a proactive approach to address any instances of noncompliance. Managing and delivering programs and projects to meet agreed customer requirements and ensure value-based outcomes are delivered. Reviewing operations and encouraging continuous improvement in service delivery to ensure the provision of high quality and commercially viable services. Acting as the main point of contact within the Gladstone region to deliver outcomes that meet legislation and overall program requirements. Contributing to the planning and development of current and future services to achieve corporate objectives, performance standards and targets. Representing QBuild and the Regional Director at meetings, including any after-hours emergency situations which may arise. Encouraging a positive work environment, by promoting safe and equitable work practices and a commitment to equal opportunity in employment, anti-discrimination and workplace health and safety principles and practices. Preferred Skills And Experience Demonstrated experience in compiling and project managing complex estimating projects in a building construction and maintenance environment. Thorough working knowledge of building construction and maintenance legislative and regulatory requirements, principles and practices and contract procedures. How do I apply?
