About the role
This role will offer you the unique opportunity to play a key role in guiding the direction of Glen Eira's strategic planning framework and have a significant impact on the way we plan for our community.
You will work across internal departments and external groups to contribute to the delivery of the Work Plan and other City Futures projects.
Further, you will contribute to the development, implementation and review process of strategic land use and development studies, strategies, policies and planning scheme amendments.
Key responsibilities include: Preparing technical reports, briefings and papers on strategic planning initiatives and reformsProviding advice to Councillors, officers, and the community in relation to strategic planning issuesPreparing and evaluating amendments to the Glen Eira Planning SchemeUndertaking general studies, planning research surveys, data collection, analysis and presentation of resultMonitoring new planning developments and concepts from a regional and state perspective and report on suitable changes of strategies policies to CouncilWhat you will bring Tertiary qualification in urban planning or related fieldExperience in strategic planningSound knowledge of the Victorian planning systemSpecialist skills in analysis, research, plan and policy development and report writingExperience in drafting of planning scheme content in the Victorian planning systemSound communication and presentation skillsInterview information
