About the role: Reporting to the Strategic Planning Coordinator, the Principal Strategic Planner will provide advice and support to undertake various tasks associated with the development, monitoring and review of the local planning framework.
The role will provide complex planning, environmental and coastal technical information and support to Elected Members, other Planning Officers, City employees and customers.
The person: The successful applicant will possess Bachelor of Arts in Urban & Regional Planning, align with our values and be a critical thinker.
In addition, you will have: Highly developed working knowledge of planning, environmental, coastal processes, local government and heritage legislation and processes.
Seven to ten years of relevant strategic and statutory planning experience in assessing and determining structure plans, Scheme amendments and planning policies.
Demonstrated understanding of the legislative planning framework, and strategic and statutory planning processes, including preparation of scheme amendments, strategies and structure plans, in Western Australia.
Extensive experience in assessing and project managing large scale projects, including procurement and undertaking community consultation.
