Maximum Term Full Time until October 2025 | 9 day fortnight $123,568pa + 12% super
Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 8 of EBA5 72.5 hour fortnight Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days. Join City of Moreton Bay as a Principal Strategic Planner and help shape and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow.
This position is a max term contract until the end of October 2025 and provides specialist planning expertise and leads the delivery of highly complex strategic planning and placemaking projects and services to meet the needs of the community within the City of Moreton Bay area.
You will also:
Act as a technical expert providing leadership and direction to team members in the delivery of strategic land use planning matters to drive integrated and sustainable planning outcomes. Provide specialist technical input into the development and implementation of key policy relating to the planning scheme, infrastructure planning, significant major projects and key placemaking activities. Facilitate project-based community consultation including representing Council at a range of customer meetings, community, and business forums. Act as a department delegate on a variety of projects, providing a source of professional advice to key stakeholders. About you With ample experience and knowledge in strategic land use planning and development assessment practices, and delivery of highly complex strategic land use planning projects, you will also hold a Degree in Urban and Regional Planning or equivalent qualification.
Additionally, you will have:
Substantial experience in project management and associated risk management practices. High level experience providing expert strategic and technical advice. Ability to lead projects and teams. Extensive knowledge and experience in applying relevant state and local government legislation, including the Planning Act 2016, SEQ Regional Plan, Council planning schemes, local laws and policies. Excellent communication skills with an ability to communicate complex planning concepts and matters in a simple and concise manner and negotiate sustainable outcomes.
