Principal Solicitor for the Police Association of Tasmania (PAT) Are you an experienced lawyer in private practice, government or in house looking for a change? We have a bespoke opportunity on offer which will see you leading the Police Association of Tasmania Legal team as the Principal Solicitor. The PAT are incorporating a legal practice which will be a service provided to members of the PAT only. Areas of practice will include crime, workers compensation and employment law. ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking candidates with a minimum of 5 years Post Admission Experience (PAE). More senior candidates are encouraged to apply. Serve as a key liaison between our members, our Executive and senior management, facilitating effective communication and collaboration across the firm. Oversee the performance and productivity the legal support team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure high-quality legal representation and client service. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices for legal operations to optimise efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Manage caseloads, deadlines, and client matters, ensuring timely and thorough resolution of legal issues and adherence to client service standards. ABOUT YOU You are an experienced Legal Advisor who wants to make a difference. You have demonstrated ability to work in a small team. You possess excellent communication skills both written and oral and have an ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders. You will also have; Applicants must hold permanent residency in Australia, possess an unrestricted practicing certificate. Experience in personal injury/ workers compensation/ insurance law highly regarded but not essential. Experience in criminal law will be highly regarded but not essential.
