We have a 10-month opportunity for aPrincipal Service Designer in Supplier, Policy and Innovation Development team in the ICT/Digital Sourcing branch of the Department of Customer Service. We are a central team that supports NSW Government agencies in sourcing ICT and Digital related goods and services (ICT Procurement) at an all of government level.
IPP aims to embed agile procurement practices across government, improve the uptake of new technologies to solve problems people face in NSW and stimulate growth in the emerging technology sector. This role will drive procurement policy reform to enable these outcomes.
You will lead Innovation Procurement Service Design and Product Advisory as part of a collaborative and cross-functional team that includes business and product owners, a policy officer and an engagement expert to deliver an iterative and consultative change program with user experience at its core. The team will rely on you for your understanding of service design principles, ability to create end-to-end IPP artefacts, roadmap of opportunities and service/products;and your ability to guide innovation project teams along their journey – helping them identify and remove roadblocks, facilitate effective communication and decision-making, guiding and coaching team members on the best practices in the whole product lifecycle as needed.
You will also be responsible for: Collaborate with experts to identify services, processes, policy and regulation within the service landscape and prioritise opportunities into roadmaps. Help teams develop a deep understanding of user and user needs. Teach and embed all team members with HCD skills Facilitate engagements, showcases and workshops. Conduct research to develop actionable insights and facilitate reframing, ideation and prioritisation activities. Develop prototypes for testing, showcase presentation and publishing Make sure services meet W3C web standards for all users, channels and touchpoints. Build understanding of the service users and their behaviour, providing insights to core, wider team and senior leadership You will be a good fit for this role if you: A deep understanding of design thinking principles and experience working with agile methodologies. Strong understanding of Public ICT Innovation Procurement practice, including developing challenge statements, evaluation criteria and innovation pathways for market facing procurement activities Expert level design of end-to-end artefacts, roadmap of opportunities and service/products: Guidance, policy & service delivery. Advanced collaboration skills with experts to identify services, processes, policy and regulation within the service landscape and prioritise opportunities into roadmaps. Expert at Designing and facilitating engagements, showcases, roundtables and workshops. Experience in a digital innovation environment such as a digital accelerator Expert business client engagement: capturing requirements, identifying gaps, developing the case for change, and story telling Experience in a digital policy development environment is preferred.
