We Are Looking For a Highly Experienced Chemical Residue And Contaminant Specialist To Join Our High Performing Team Within Biosecurity Queensland To
Professionally lead and manage a team of residue specialists and agricultural scientists

As our Principal Scientist (Agvet Chemicals and Contaminants), you will use your specialist knowledge, expertise, and extensive experience to provide scientific leadership and guidance to internal and external stakeholders on complex agvet chemical residues and contaminants in agriculture and agvet chemical registrations.
Your contributions will significantly assist Queensland build and maintain agricultural trade, its unique environment and our amazing lifestyle.

Build and maintain effective professional working relationships, and collaboration with scientists, specialists, team members, industry and community members, at the national, state and local levels
Can manage a significant workload with competing priorities, ensuring team activities are undertaken promptly and effectively
Actively contribute to team and organisational scientific capability and develop and maintain specialist knowledge, contemporary awareness and understanding of state and national developments in agvet chemical residues, agvet chemical registrations and contaminants
Licences and registrations
A current 'C' class drivers licence
Mandatory Qualifications
It is a mandatory requirement for a professional officer to possess an Australian Bachelor degree (AQF level 7 or equivalent) or higher in Science, Applied Science, Chemistry or equivalent to the position from a recognised tertiary institution.
For international qualifications, the applicant will need their qualification assessed, to determine comparability with the Australian Qualifications Framework. The Department of Employment, Small Business and Training can assist with these assessments for Queensland residents.
