The salary package will be by negotiation with the person who demonstrates they can undertake this role and given the location, Redleaf will give consideration to assisting with relocation expenses.
RESPONSIBLE FOR  Possess a comprehensive understanding of relevant state and commonwealth legislation as it pertains to ecological monitoring and assessments and environmental permits and licensing. Deliver high-level ecology projects whilst applying your expert knowledge to follow key performance indictors: quality of outcomes, efficient achievement of milestones and deliverables within budget. Produce and review technical reports and written advice to a high quality on a range ecology and environmental issues. Lead and coordinate projects relating to ecological and environmental areas as directed by your Manager. Lead fieldwork in flora and fauna surveys, habitat assessments and remote fieldwork. Plan, prepare for and undertake field flora and/or fauna and general ecological monitoring surveys. Maintain a clean and safe workspace and abide by workplace health and safety policies and procedures. Follow all lawful instructions given by the company. Undertake office administration including reception, mail, couriers, greeting clients and filing. Communicate any issues that impede your performance to your Team Leader as soon as they become known by utilising the organisations communication process [fix-it process] Assist in Quality Control issues and report to Team Leader. Understand or seek clarification, and follow all business policy, procedures, and processes. Contribute to the ongoing improvement to the business and its policies, procedures, and processes. Assist in marketing the business by asking for referrals for new business and by upselling other products and services to existing customers. Assist the business to comply with all local, state, and federal government legal or compliance issues. Follow the organisations business system, including but not limited to, the Work Health Safety & Environmental policies and procedures. Fit for work as required by the duties of the role. Travel is a necessary part of this role as we are a 'land and bush' based business. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE  University degree in environmental science, applied science or equivalent in one of the following disciplines: environmental management, chemical, forensic, physical, geological, hydrological, environmental, applied, or biological sciences, environmental engineering. 10 years or more experience in ecological or environmental projects in paid or voluntary capacity Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) Advanced understanding of GIS software including QGIS and ArcGIS. Excellent verbal and written communication. Organised and able to meet deadlines. High level of understanding in ecological survey methods. First aid certificate. Fauna handling and venomous snake handling. Class C Drivers Licence. Physically fit and resilient in the workplace. If you want to be part of this exciting team , then send us your resume and a covering letter outlining 'why you' so that we can bring you onboard as soon as possible.
