About the RoleThe Principal Reward will lead and provide support for global, regional and local Reward initiatives to the Minerals Australia Assets. This role is primarily responsible for local engagement with the business, provision of specialist and technical reward advice, and support for deployment of all relevant regional and global strategic reward initiatives, with consideration of the local regional context.
Key ResponsibilitiesAct as a strategic partner to HR and leaders, and provide deep functional remuneration and benefits expertise to add value to the business, including the governance and deployment of the global and local remuneration frameworks, policies and procedures.Contribute to the strategic design and implementation of global remuneration policy, recognition programs and frameworks, with regional and business input.Provide technical and specialist reward advice on remuneration philosophy and frameworks, understanding impacts of reward decisions, consistent application of flexible work arrangements and other I&D initiatives, and other adhoc remuneration components.Support the development of reward capability in the business and HR, via coaching and partnering, to ensure reward implementation and execution is accurate and fit for purpose.Proactively seek an understanding of the relevant external salary market landscape, forecasts and movements, and interpret the information for internal stakeholders.Support Employee Relations team with the remuneration elements in the development and implementation of industrial agreements, as well as the maintenance of remuneration terms in existing industrial agreements and relevant industry awards.Provide specialist advice and support to Reward Operations in key remuneration activities, including job grading, reward and benefits administration, annual reward review processes, gender pay analysis, external reporting, executive remuneration proposals and payments, union agreement support, enquiry management, etc.About YouDegree or equivalent education or experience required.Experience with the management and understanding of incentive plans, bonus pooling and relevant reward and remuneration processes.Extensive technical experience in remuneration and benefit programs, as well as strong people management (directly or indirectly) in a global company.Excellent understanding of HR practices and compensation/remuneration cycle management.Excellent communication skills, high attention to detail, and strong analytical skills.Proficiency in use of the Microsoft Office suite, in particular Microsoft Excel.Experience with managing the delivery/execution of global reward activities and initiatives.Deep technical expertise in remuneration and benefit programs, including ability to think conceptually, analyse, problem solve and drive practical solutions.Promote a culture of innovation, learning and development and continuous improvement with the team.Ability to influence others to achieve desired outcomes, including being able to work with people across all levels of the organisation (administrators to Vice Presidents) and cross-culturally as part of a global team.Able to translate data analytics into commercial insights and strategic business priorities.About Our ProcessAt BHP, we are committed to employing individuals who align with the BHP Charter Values and meet the requirements of the role.
