Metro South Research is looking for a Principal Research Governance Officer to join their team. This role leads the planning, development, and negotiation of research contracts in accordance with the Metro South Health Contract Management Framework and the Metro South Research Policy Framework. The Principal Research Governance Officer also leads and manages a designated team to provide client-focused Site Specific Assessment (SSA) services which meet the needs of the research community and optimise own source revenue opportunities.

About the Role Using a case management approach, facilitate timely research contract development, negotiation, and execution through collaboration with the Metro South Research administration and support functions. Provide expert advice and policy recommendations on matters relating to relevant research governance processes as they apply to Metro South Research. Provide accurate and timely key performance data to monitor research contract development, negotiation, and execution in accordance with the Metro South Contract Management Framework and in compliance with regulatory requirements. Coordinate and liaise with relevant internal and external stakeholders in relation to research contract development which negotiates favourable terms and conditions on behalf of MSH and optimises research project delivery outcomes. Set and deliver overarching research governance arrangements across the HHS through review of existing processes, gap analysis, engagement with services, and implementing changes in collaboration with the Manager, Research Integrity and Compliance.
