About This Opportunity An excellent opportunity is available for a Principal Research Coordinator based within the Institute for Social Science Research.
In this role, you will provide expert guidance on multiple social science research projects within the SSRIN initiative, a collaboration between UQ's ISSR and the ARDC.
The SSRIN will collaborate with universities, government, and community partners to deliver large-scale, four-year projects improving social science research infrastructure.
By enhancing data access, governance, and skills, particularly in quantitative and computational methods, this role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of social science research and make a significant contribution to society.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct literature reviews and data analysis to support research on social science data discoverability, accessibility, integration, and use.
Support the production of high-quality research outputs.
Consult with key stakeholders about issues related to data discoverability, data access, data integration, and governance.
Disseminate project findings, project-related activities and outcomes through web-based content and/or social media.
Contribute to knowledge transfer, team collaboration and other SSRIN work packages as required.
About You Completion of a degree in sociology, economics, psychology, public health, education, or other social science discipline, with at least four (4) years' relevant experience in social science research; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
Demonstrated research-relevant knowledge and skills with experience producing literature reviews and working with quantitative social science data sets and metadata.
Experience writing, formatting and editing clear, concise, insightful, and polished research reports and reviews targeting diverse external audiences.
Experience working across multiple projects simultaneously with the ability to forward plan, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Experience working independently and as part of a team.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work and liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders in a research environment, including the ability to perform stakeholder consultations/interviews.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia.
