Titles Queensland manages the land and water titles registries for Queensland and are the trusted experts in maintaining the reliability and integrity of one of our state's most significant registers of information, protecting people's most valuable assets.
With over 750,000 lodgements and 2.7 million searches of land and water titles registry dealings each year, our services are fundamental to the investment in Queensland and safeguarding records for property owners and interest holders across our past, present and future.
In June 2021, the Queensland Government announced the titles registry services would transfer to the Queensland Future Fund, enabled by the Queensland Future Fund (Titles Registry) Act 2021.
The corporate entity of Titles Queensland was established at this time and continues to offer the same products and services to our many customers and stakeholders maintaining a firm commitment to service excellence and accuracy.

As a Principal Regulation Lawyer within Titles Queensland, you will be a member of a diverse, culturally aware and inclusive team, providing advice and assistance on regulatory and compliance matters relevant to Titles Queensland's functions and responsibilities.
You will undertake a diverse range of tasks and play a key role in supporting Titles Queensland in fulfilling its agency and legislative roles, in particular in relation to the ongoing development and management of the regulatory framework for national eConveyancing.
Key Accountabilities
Provide supervision and support to other members of the Regulation Team by reviewing work and / or making decisions referred by team members due to their sensitive or complex nature.
Develop and progress projects relating to the ongoing development and management of the regulatory framework for national eConveyancing.
Provide authoritative, specialist advice to the Chief Executive and Chief Operating and Legal Officer.
Represent Queensland on national or state based working groups.
Engage with stakeholders on the operation of, and changes to, the legislative framework, rules, requirements and processes.
Develop and implement a compliance framework for Electronic Lodgement Network Operators and eConveyancing Subscribers.

What we are looking for from applicants:
A degree in law and admission as, or eligibility for immediate admission as, or entitlement to practice as, a legal practitioner in the State of Queensland.
Experience undertaking research and analysis and providing legal advice.
Ability to prioritise projects and tasks efficiently, be flexible and able to adapt to changing expectations and requirements.
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work well independently and collaboratively and with a focus on delivering results.
Knowledge of property law and legislative frameworks under which the Torrens land titling system and eConveyancing operate in Queensland.
Preferred:
Understanding of other relevant areas of law particularly administrative law, contract law, corporations law and privacy law.
Understanding of government policy making and decision making.
Experience in drafting regulatory documents, correspondence, and other documents relating to complex matters.
