Support and build the capacity of Psychologist's working in youth mental healthGrade 5 Psychology Ongoing part time role (0.7 EFT) Flexibility and work-life balance | Based in ParkvilleYour new team: Orygen Specialist Program (OSP), a program of the Royal Melbourne Hospital, provides specialist mental health services for young people aged 12 to 25 and focuses on providing early intervention to
young people with severe and complex mental illness.
The Psychology Workforce team is a sub-program of OSP, comprising a small group of Senior Psychologists, dedicated to developing and building the Psychology workforce within OSP.
Your new role: The recent Royal Commission findings are prompting change and innovation across the sector, and the OSP Psychology Workforce play a key role in demonstrating best practice models of early intervention for severe mental health difficulties in youth.
This role will work with the Director of Psychology and Orygen Clinical Training to design, develop and deliver the OSP Psychology Registrar Program and other workforce development programs. This role will also:
Have oversight of the professional development of the psychology workforce, the psychology registrar program and the post-graduate psychology student placementsScope and identify the workforce learning and development needs of Psychology staff across OSP, including collecting data regarding the positions in various areas (clinical/management/education/operational/research)In collaboration with other Allied Health Educators and Clinical Specialists, contribute to the development of education and training programs for the Psychology Workforce in key areas Work collaboratively with colleagues across all OSP teams, inclusive of all disciplines (Lived Experience, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Social Work and Medical).Develop and expand links with Psychology Academic programs to ensure a robust graduate workforce.Provide supervision to the Psychology workforce as appropriate.Work in partnership with young people, families, carers and supporters.About you: Relevant registration and qualifications (see position description for details)Comprehensive experience delivering mental health services and psychological interventions to young people and their families/carers with a wide range of difficulties.Considerable experience as a Senior Psychologist, with experience providing supervision to early career psychologist's.
