About the role: The Principal Project Officer will drive a range of strategic projects and initiatives in support of the Manager of the Data Collections team in the conduct of the Victorian Cost Data Collection (VCDC) on a broad range of issues, initiatives, and projects.
This position:
Provides high level organisational and strategic support and will lead VCDC data collection and improvement priorities and opportunities.Leads the provision of well-informed advice, stakeholder engagement and alignment of key strategic priorities across the VCDC.Provides key analytical support and advice on implications to the VCDC as well as the National Hospital Cost Data Collection (NHCDC)Is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely submissions to the Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority and providing advice to this body on costing related issues of concern to VictoriaLeads and manages costing studies related to delivery of services for specific programs, with the focus of the team varying over time as priorities change.About us: At the Victorian Department of Health we want a future where Victorians are the healthiest people in the world. Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate: Manage and oversee the full life cycle of projects to meet division objectives including:
Leading research, analysis and implementation of complex projects based on defined outcomes and outputs.Managing and overseeing projects or sub-projects and being accountable for the successful delivery and completion of the projects/sub-projects within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters.Monitoring and evaluating projects to ensure divisional objectives are met.Provide leadership, guidance and authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders and prepare detailed comprehensive reports, ministerial briefs and agency submissions on complex matters.Pro-actively build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate a partnership approach.Where responsible for overseeing, monitoring or delivering projects, ensure they are delivered in accordance with relevant legislation and government regulations and guidelines.Liaise and work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to deliver a range of initiatives at a divisional level. This involves attending regular internal and external meetings and establishing partnerships where required.Strategically plan and manage VCDC Reporting projects to meet program objectives and implement projects where required.Effectively manage and provide leadership to a team of employees.Develop and design innovative strategies, program initiatives and integrated systems approaches to enhance impact of various Data Services and divisional initiatives.Keep accurate and complete records of work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements and take responsible care for own health and safety.Demonstrate how the actions and outcomes of this role and work impact the division and team's ability to deliver, or facilitate the delivery of, effective support and services.To learn more please click 'Apply' to view the Position Description on the Careers.vic website.
