As the Principal Project Officer, you will take a leading role in the development and implementation of investment and commercial policy and project development to support the State's first offshore wind energy market auction.
This key role leads energy and financial modelling analysis to aid the design and delivery of the State's support mechanism and auction design and provides technical support, contributing to the development of evaluation criteria and commercial assessment of offshore wind projects.
Accountabilities include:
Offer evidence-based, strategic recommendations to departmental executive, other state government departments, and the Ministers, ensuring all advice is aligned with the group's goals and policies.Oversee and lead energy and financial modelling analysis, working closely with expert modellers to support the design and delivery of the State's support mechanisms and auction designs, and providing technical support for the State evaluating offshore wind projects.Develop and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including departmental executives, Ministers, associated departments, and industries to facilitate integrated and sound advice.Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications An appropriate tertiary qualification(s) including post-graduate qualification(s) in engineering, economics, finance is highly desirable.Demonstrated experience in modelling or technical analysis of energy projects at a senior level, including provision of strategic advice to government is desirable.Understanding of the Victorian energy sector and the National Electricity Market is desirable.Demonstrated experience to deliver complex policy and/or projects is highly desirable.This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2027.
