About the role: The Principal Project Officer coordinates the development and continuous improvement of strategic emergency management with a focus on quality and building divisional resilience to minimise the impact of emergencies on health services, aged care and community organisations impacted by emergencies.
The Emergency Response team provides a single point of contact for the Emergency Management and Regional Public Health (EMRPH) branch and supports preparedness planning, capability development and building resilience to minimise the impacts of health emergencies.
The team provides expert input into guidelines, plans and processes, and ensures the flow of communication between teams to respond to emergency events.
The Emergency Response team develops effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders including health service executives and senior management, and a range of program and policy areas within the department to support them with preparation and response to health system incidents.

Specialist Expertise - Experience in emergency management is desirable.
