The Queensland Magistrates Courts Service (MCS), part of Court Services Queensland (CSQ) sits within the Courts and Tribunals division of DJAG. MCS plays a vital role in the delivery of justice services. Most Queenslanders who come in contact with the judicial system do so first through the magistrates' courts. Magistrates' courts handle the highest volume of court cases of any Queensland court, dealing with approximately 96 percent of all criminal cases and most civil actions.
Working closely with courts registry staff, the judiciary and stakeholders you will identify and drive changes and improvements in practice and procedures, with a view to improving service delivery and access to court services, identifying areas for automation, reducing duplication and improvement business practice.

Practice Improvement and Engagement are responsible for supporting state-wide court operations and identifying innovation solutions to practice issues to improve business outcomes and court user experience.
Your key responsibilities:
• Conduct consultation, research, and analysis to provide expert strategic advice on options and impacts for CSQ arising from proposed procedures, policy and legislative reforms.
• Provide high level advice on relevant legislation and procedures, in relation to CSQ activities and contentious issues, often of a complex and sensitive nature.
• Prepare correspondence including briefs, reports, memorandums, submissions, and executive and ministerial correspondence.
• Contribute to the development of operational policies and procedures to support implementation of projects within CSQ.
• Develop partnerships within CSQ and other Government agencies to ensure the effective implementation, reporting, and evaluation of projects within CSQ.
• Consult with members of the judiciary, court staff, other government agencies, and external stakeholders on the implementation and evaluation of CSQ projects.
• Ensure the establishment and effective operation of governance arrangements for the duration of projects.
• Participate in inter-departmental and inter-agency meetings representing the interests of CSQ.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Manager or Director.
