Click here Brilliance at Work About the Role We are seeking an experienced Principal Project Manager (PPM) to lead our Rare Earth (RE) projects, starting with our current initiative in Australia.
Your responsibilities will include implementing project management frameworks, managing budgets and risks, tracking progress, handling stakeholder relationships, and ensuring legal compliance.
You will also build and lead a global project execution team to support Tronox's expansion in the Rare Earth sector.
Initially, you will report to the RE Director of Technology, transitioning to report to the VP RE as the PMO is established, ultimately transitioning from Project Manager to Project Management Office (PMO) leader.
Key Responsibilities: Manage project budgets, risks, and progress tracking.
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Establish and lead a project team, working with engineering design companies and obtaining necessary approvals.
Oversee the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective, and time-bound Project Engineering, Design, and Technical Documentation services.
Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure critical projects are highlighted and championed through the capital bidding process.
Ensure Project Engineering, Contracting and Procurement activities meet or exceed all relevant Engineering Standards, company policies, statutory, and local regulations.
Determine overall project plan resourcing and budgets; identify risks and contingencies for the delivery of the project portfolio.
Take accountability for recruitment, performance reviews, and staff development needs.
Build a strong SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment and Quality) culture; demand high standards of SHEQ performance and model this to the team at all times.
Assist VP of Rare Earths to track and manage broader Rare Earth business development activities.
About you: BSc in Engineering with a qualification in Project Management.
10+ years of experience in large project implementation, ideally across all project phases.
Senior line management experience.
Recognized and proven leadership skills Relentless devotion to timelines and budget requirements Exposure to and management of project management systems for cost, time, risk, quality, and SHEQ.
Experience in rare earth projects is advantageous but not required; experience in hydrometallurgical and/or mineral separation processes a plus.
