THE ROLE A rewarding and challenging opportunity exists within the Low-Rise Construction, Acquisition and Divestment Unit, Housing Development branch, Homes Victoria for a highly experienced Principal Project Manager.
The role will have responsibility for delivering a key aspect of the Big Housing Build, Regional Housing Fund and other acquisition and sourcing programs, of substantially increasing social and affordable housing in Victoria with a focus on working with the private sector property market to achieve this with a significant number of properties to be identified and procured at various stages of development from complete spot purchases to a pipeline of in development dwellings in a short timeframe.
The Principal Project Manager will oversee and manage a range of activities including developing, managing and executing large procurement strategies to work with the private sector to identify and procure a range of properties to add to the housing portfolio.
The role will brief, procure and manage some multi-disciplinary consultancies involved in urban planning, design, documentation and project delivery.
The role includes leadership and management of public and internal procurement and transaction processes, budget and cash flow management, reporting, and risk and issues management.
It will also have a major emphasis on process and management of the end to end property acquisition process.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE Manage and oversee the full life cycle of projects to meet departmental objectives including:Researching, preparing and executing project plans within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters.Preparing and presenting quality reports and work briefings in accordance with the department's project management processes.Evaluating tender bids and participating in liaison and negotiation associated with tender processes.Contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of projects to ensure departmental objectives are met.Manage the implementation of private market housing purchases, including overall budget, Request for Proposal process and selection, funding agreements, contract management and fulfilment.Manage the development of innovative partnership, funding and investment models to drive value for money outcomes through private market purchases.COVID-19 VACCINATION
The department strongly recommends (but does not mandate) that employees maintain their COVID-19 vaccination status in accordance with current ATAGI (Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation) advice, given their individual circumstances.
As of June 2023, DFFH does not require evidence of COVID-19 vaccination status.
