Our growing Australia Sector brings growth and opportunity. One such opportunity is the Principal Project Manager Engineering & Innovation (Maritime). The Principal Project Manager is responsible for responsible for a large body of work relating to Maritime Robotics and Autonomous Systems (RAS), undersea systems, payload and sensor integration and will utilise their experience in establishing key project management documents, processes and monthly reports.
Reporting to the Customer Project Lead, the Principal Project Manager will manage the execution and delivery of quality projects within the Defence Science & Technology domain, enhancing QinetiQ's reputation as a trusted provider and partner.  In terms of the detail for this key role, you will be responsible for but not limited to;
Plan, coordinate and execute work packages involving multiple disciplines such as mechanical, electronics and software under an Agile delivery method. Plan weekly or fortnightly sprint reviews for software element of the project Support the Project Lead in planning and delivering key projects relating to Maritime RAS, enhancing QinetiQ's reputation as a trusted provider and partner. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to define scope and establish key requirements for the related work package. Identify project risk areas and manage issue escalation. Manage, unblock, and accelerate cross-team projects spanning multiple functional teams and cross-functional initiatives. Sustain a high performance culture within the program area. Responsible for the achievement of budgeted revenue and contribution targets and provision of informed financial forecasts. Maintain regular communication with relevant members of business development (Growth function and E&I) to ensure an open information exchange environment about clients' anticipated future needs that supports strategic campaign outcomes. As an ideal applicant for this senior role, you will need:
High level knowledge and skills in program and project management tools (Apollo/Microsoft Project and/or Atlassian Jira) and methodologies; extensive experience managing full project and program lifecycles in a complex environment. Leadership experience with the experience in contributing to the development of financial targets and subsequent achievement of those targets Programme and Technical (Engineering, Science, Technology) background with real world delivery Demonstrated leadership, stakeholder management and influencing skills and capability An outcomes focused approach to capability development and uplift through ongoing continuous improvement and delivering business transformation Demonstrated ability to cultivate a broad network of relationships and influence with key internal and external stakeholders. Experience negotiating commercial and projects / services delivery with senior Defence customers/stakeholders. Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be eligible for Australian Defence security clearance.
