Following the release of the Queensland Skills Strategy, the VPI team is managing a significant expression of interest (EOI) process for new Skills Assure Supplier contracting arrangement that will commence from 1 July 2025. We are seeking an energetic, self-motivated team member to manage the probity requirements of the EOI process and communications with stakeholders.The successful applicant will work across departmental teams and with external legal and probity advisors to support the EOI process.The work of the VPI team includes the development of investment programs and policies, program design expertise, and oversight and planning for the Skills Assure Supplier system. Team members also contribute to risk management control, VET database knowledge, data analysis and reporting across vocational education and training (VET) and skills development.About the roleAs the Principal Program Officer, you will:Support the implementation of the new Skills Assure Framework and strategies that support training and skills outcomes.Manage probity requirements relating to a large-scale Expression of Interest process, by drafting correspondence, tracking stakeholder communications and managing reporting requirements.Work across Skills Investment teams to provide strategic advice, contribute to program/project management, planning and operations management, and analysis of complex policy issues.Develop and maintain positive working relationships, and coach and mentor other team members to respond to service delivery requirements.What we are looking forThe position requires an applicant who has:Proven track record in successful program management, demonstrating the ability to oversee complex programs aligned with organisational objectives.High level experience in provision of timely, high-quality written and oral advice on complex issues to senior management, including the preparation of performance reports, briefings, business cases, and other communication on a wide range of strategic and operational issues, often within tight timeframes.Experience in participating in project teams, developing and implementing project plans, monitoring progress and adjusting plans to bring projects to completion, with experience working independently and with others to problem solve and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.Well-developed communication, consultation and negotiation skills with demonstrated experience to effectively interact with a wide variety of key stakeholders.How to applyTo apply, please submit the below via the SmartJobs application page:• Your current resume• Provide a short statement (maximum 1 page) telling us why you are interested in this role, outlining what your motivation is to join us and your experience in program management and strategic communication.Please ensure you refer to the Role Description 'Interested in applying' section for more information on what to include as part of your application.We're committed to appointing the best-suited person for each role.
