The Early Childhood Division is looking for people who will play a key role in driving the successful implementation of key early childhood programs through effective stakeholder engagement and contract management, to ensure service delivery responds to the needs of families and their children aged from birth to 8 years.

Your Role

As The Principal Program Officer, You Will

Manage the delivery of early childhood programs including contract and performance management of funded services, as well as the effective and efficient administration of funding via the online grants management system, ensuring a strong and effective customer service focus.Contribute to the development of strategic initiatives and provide advice on policy development, operational planning, and practice.Contribute to the development and delivery of strong governance processes by supporting the implementation of policies, procedures, and frameworks to ensure accountability. The Principal Program Officer reports to the Manager of the work unit.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

Provide high-level advice to ensure the efficient, effective, and coordinated development of departmental strategies relative to early childhood education and care services and programs.Manage a suite of programs, contracts, and funding rounds and associated service providers to ensure the strategic aims and objectives of the Government are being achieved.Provide leadership and coordination of responses to achieve identified departmental outcomes and strategies.Liaise, consult, and assist in the management of the design and implementation of strategic planning and policy strategies for the provision of children, family, and community services and initiatives in Queensland.Liaise, consult, and negotiate at a senior level with relevant government and non-government organisations relating to human service provision and policies that impact on the effective operation of relevant legislation.
