Are you our new Principal Product Manager We're looking for a Principal Product Manager to help us track every brand in the world. You'll be responsible for scaling our survey sampling: the heart of the Tracksuit product. This is great for a "zero-to-one" style product manager: someone who can start something from scratch and effectively build a new business / product within Tracksuit. That business is finding commercially viable ways to find more survey respondents. This is not your run-of-the-mill product role: this is closer to a Founder / Chief of Staff / Commercial Director role.
We're forming a small, tight-knit team to lead this effort. You'll be working with a Principal Engineer, a Senior Data Scientist, and have support from market research experts. A small but impactful team that has high agency and high accountability.
Please note — while we have listed this role as being based in our Sydney office, we are also open to Auckland applicants and this person working from our NZ office. We are open to assisting with relocation to either location, however you will need the legal right to work.
The Important bits: You will report to our Head of Product, Harry, sitting within our Product function. You'll join us as an individual contributor. This full-time permanent role is benchmarked as Level 5, with a salary range of $190,000 - $220,000 AUD plus generous ESOP and a full suite of benefits.
This role is exciting because: You're working on one of the most impactful projects in the company: You'll be solving a problem that's core to our ability to scale and retain product market fit.You get to be hands-on: negotiating with third-parties, building partnerships, working across the business, sitting alongside engineers, and implementing solutions. We don't have a roadmap dictated to us: you'll have a clear high-level outcome (finding more survey sample), but it's up to you to define the problems and solutions that contribute to that outcome. You'll work across the entire business: especially with an international focus. Finding more sample is not just an ANZ challenge: it's across all of our markets, especially the US and the UK.We're backed by product-legend Lenny Rachitsky: founder of Lenny's Podcast and Lenny's Newsletter. In Lenny's words: "Across the thousands of startup decks I've looked at, I've almost never seen a growth trajectory like the growth Tracksuit has seen."As our Principal Product Manager, you will be responsible for: Building a strategy to scale how we find survey sampleThinking like a founder: being commercial, entrepreneurial, and doing whatever is needed to acquire more survey sampleWorking with engineers, data scientists, and other roles to build the product and implement the strategyMaintaining and scaling the solutionsNegotiating with third-party survey panels and other external vendorsBuilding a commercially viable way to scale our survey needsBuilding partnerships with people in the market research industryLeading the implementation of integrating different sample sourcesLeading the launch of new survey products to drive acquisition and retentionMaintaining data quality and integrityThat's the role, so who are you? You have 5+ years experience in a product-focused role in a high growth SaaS businessProven track-record on critical projects: you are someone who's comfortable with running high profile projects within the business.Kind: A kind, low-ego, smart, and genuine human with a growth mindsetTechnical and data-literate: The world of surveys is a technical, data-heavy one. You should be comfortable with technical and data-focused products. You will have proven experience working collaboratively with engineers: to discovery, build, maintain, iterate, and scale a solutionYou will be commercial minded: have the ability to think commercially and create a profitable way to find sample.
