Job Description - Principal Process Engineer (AUS0009UW) Ausenco is a fast-growing company with big ideas. About the role
• Manage process engineering design and documentation to ensure accurate consistency with study and project scopes
• Provide peer review and approval of agreed process deliverables
• Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions
• Develop lasting relationships with Minerals and Metals clients that foster potential future partnership opportunities
• Motivate, mentor and provide technical knowledge to team members in the Hunter Valley and elsewhere in Australia and support their personal development
• Work cooperatively with other members of the Ausenco global team to ensure overall study/project success including developing close working relationships with Ausenco's in-house process experts and specialists
• Provide principal level expertise all the way through engineering phases from conceptual design, front-end engineering and detailed design, and similarly develop connections in the wider Ausenco engineering team to leverage capabilities
• Ensure that technical solutions that are delivered to clients are fit for purpose and deliver the best possible outcome for the project within time, budget and quality constraints
• Contribute strongly to the cost-efficient design of plants (lean design) by seeking to apply innovative solutions and technological developments that bring greater value to clients
About you
• Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering or Extractive Metallurgy coupled with at least 10+ years of experience in the Mining and Minerals processing industry
• Solid practical experience working in other engineering companies or working on EPCM projects or studies at various levels on the owner's side
• Well-rounded skill set in base metal flotation concentrators, gold processing plants and comminution
• Recent demonstrated experience in a leadership role with leading, mentoring and developing teams
• Experienced in mill, concentrator and/or metallurgical plant design – particularly for base and precious metals
• Knowledge of engineering workflow process and working knowledge of industry process related software, codes and standards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify underlying principles or facts associated with information or data to draw conclusion
• Demonstrated ability for time management and to work on multiple projects simultaneously
