We have an exciting, fixed term temporary flexible full-time opportunity for you to join our Health-Housing and Homelessness team, System Policy Branch based in Brisbane CBD!
Lead a range of strategic policy and program activities and projects to enable Queensland Health to efficiently and effectively discharge its system manager functions.
Your key responsibilities
Undertake research, environmental scanning and critical analysis to identify and advise on future strategic policy challenges, opportunities, priorities and issues including intradepartmental and interdepartmental policy priorities.Initiate and manage, in consultation with key stakeholders (Commonwealth and State), the development of strategic policies that address priority health issues, population groups and reforms in the health system.Provide expert advice and support on the development of strategic and State-wide policy and issues for Queensland Health that is consistent with strategic priorities.Lead strategic policy development and implementation activities and provide guidance to staff on projects.Contribute to the development of strategic policy frameworks and strategies.Prepare high-level briefing documents, submissions, correspondence and reports.Establish and maintain networks with internal and external stakeholders.The successful person The successful applicant will have a proven track record in managing policy and/or program projects with complex and sensitive subject matter.
You will have strong writing skills and be experienced at preparing policy materials for a range of audiences.
You will have strong analytical skills and ability to navigate complex legislative and regulatory requirements, in a health setting.
You will have a proven track record of managing projects to a timeline and, at times, working autonomously to achieve this.
You will have exceptional communication skills and a demonstrated ability to engage, negotiate with, and influence, a broad range of stakeholders, including Hospital and Health Service clinicians, senior leaders, cross-government agencies, and non-government partners, to achieve high-quality policy and/or program outcomes.
