Are you looking for the next challenge in your policy career? We are recruiting for a switched on, collaborative and delivery focused Principal Policy Advisor (Fixed Term - 18 month contract) to join the team.
NTC's Heavy Vehicle Reform team is focused on developing and supporting the delivery of national law reforms to ensure safe, sustainable and productive heavy vehicle and freight transport operations in Australia.
The Principal Policy Advisor undertakes research, develops policy and legislation, and supports the delivery of the Heavy Vehicle Reform Program.
About usThe NTC has a unique role in national land transport policy and law reform. We work across all governments and report via the joint Infrastructure and Transport Ministers' Meeting. We seek to harmonise national approaches to improve safety, productivity, environmental outcomes, consumer confidence and regulatory efficiency.
You have great interpersonal skills and enjoy working collaboratively. You are an enthusiastic self-starter who takes responsibility for delivering successful outcomes. Your experience and skills include:
Significant strategic government policy development and regulatory reform experienceOutstanding written and verbal communication, and the ability to synthesise diverse information sources and build a compelling argumentSenior stakeholder management and the ability to build productive working relationshipsHighly developed analytical, conceptual and creative problem-solving skills including experience with quantitative and qualitative data analysis to support public policy developmentAdaptable program and project management, involving multiple disciplines and delivery partnersDesirable - Experience in vehicle telematics and the related policy and regulatory considerationsTo be eligible to work at NTC you must have unlimited rights to work in Australia and agree to pre-employment screening, which includes probity checks and psychometric testing.
