An exciting, temporary opportunity exists for a Principal Policy Advisor within the Land Transport Safety & Regulation Branch, based in Brisbane.

Job duration: From 03/01/25 to 28/11/25 with possible extension
Some of your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Leading a small team to deliver on a program of policy projects, which includes extensive consultation, legislative reform, and public communication and education.
Preparing and reviewing a range of complex documents including policy options papers, briefing notes, cabinet submissions, discussion papers, communication material, as well as departmental and other correspondence in accordance with departmental standards.
Building and maintaining effective networks and professional relationships, consulting and negotiating with internal and external clients, interest groups, other government agencies (federal, state, and local), and the general public.
Managing staff performance and development, including appropriate delegation, setting clear expectations, providing constructive feedback, and encouraging learning and growth.
Providing specialist advice to your Manager, Director, and other executives relating to relevant legislation and policy frameworks.
