To achieve this, the Plant Biosecurity Branch undertakes the following services:maintaining and improving the plant health status of the plant and plant product industriesminimising the risk of exotic pests entering NT through education, engagement, surveillance and compliancefacilitating interstate trade of plant and plant products through certification, inspection and the Interstate Certification Assurance programconducting active and passive pest surveillance to support market access nationally and within NTconducting active surveillance for the early detection of a range of exotic pestspreparing effective response mechanisms in the event of an incursiondeveloping, implementing and reviewing plant health policy and legislation.As the Principal Plant Biosecurity Officer, your primary objective will be to provide high level direction and leadership to the Plant Biosecurity team that aligns with our strategic direction and national obligations. Working closely with the Chief Plant Health Officer and a dedicated team, the position will be required to develop and implement biosecurity programs, policy and legislation to protect the Plant Industries located in the north.Applications should consist of a one page summary sheet, resume / CV and copies of relevant qualifications.
