We have an exciting, fixed term temporary flexible full-time opportunity for you to join our System Planning Branch based in Brisbane CBD!
This Principal Planning Officer (Projection Methodologies) will contribute to the development of statewide service planning for Queensland Health through research, analysis and interpretation of data and information.
Key responsibilities: Develop health service planning guidelines, methodologies and reports through research, analysis and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative data and information to inform policy, service plans, and future requirements.Analyse components of service plans and other documentation related to service planning to support the provision of well-considered advice within the Department or to external stakeholders.Undertake analysis of data and research of clinical evidence to identify future priorities and issues for Queensland Health that informs the development and review of planning projects.Develop and present research, analysis, options and recommendations for strategic policy and service planning activities based on international, national and state resources.The successful person: You will have demonstrated:
Develop health service planning guidelines, methodologies and reports to inform policy, service plans and future requirements.Ability to source, critically analyse and interpret data and research including both qualitative and quantitative information to underpin policy development statewide, strategic and system level and service planning, including identification of system priorities.Ability to extract data from large datasets, data management skills, demonstrated analytical skills and practical ability in complex data analysis and interrogation and interpreting and communicating the results.Ability to use software for data analysis (e.g., R or similar, Excel, SQL, Power BI) and willingness to develop skills in the use of other software programs.Project management ability within proven ability to work autonomously, as well as effectively in a team environment contributing to the ongoing management of complex time-critical projects, to deliver on specified milestones.High level verbal and written communication skills, including ability to describe statistical methodologies and summarise literature to compile analytical reports, discussion papers, presentations and planning documents.About us: The Department of Health is responsible for the overall management of the public health system in Queensland.
