About the role
The Principal Planner supports the delivery of high quality land use and development in a progressive and customer first organisation.
In this role, you will work across a diverse range of projects ranging from unit and apartment developments, heritage proposals, complex land use and development proposals and applications abutting our creek environments.

The role is a permanent, full-time position.
Duties
Several of the key duties of the position include:

Provide quality and professional advice to customers. Prepare reports and make recommendations on planning applications. Prepare submissions and represent Council at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal. Assist in the review and monitoring of planning policies and procedures. Undertake other duties as directed within the skills and abilities of a position at this level. Skills & Experience
Several of the key skills and experiences of the position include:

Proven working knowledge and understanding of planning principles and service delivery. Sound analytical and conceptual skills and demonstrated ability to deal with a variety of complex issues concurrently and within time constraints. Demonstrated capacity to undertake project related tasks and produce clear, concise reports. Well-developed interpersonal skills and a commitment to quality service. Ability to support continuous service improvement with a focus on customer experience, systems and processes. Culture
