Wood is recruiting a Principal Piping Stress Engineer as part of our strategic growth plan for 2024 and beyond.
You will join our Operations business in a pivotal role as we partner with a major player in the Oil & Gas industry on a major brownfields Engineering Service Contract.
Based in Perth CBD, this is a permanent role and is available as a full-time / part-time (job share) basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting to the Discipline Manager - Mechanical & Piping (APAC West), you will be working across FEED / Execution to EPCM delivery, with a focus on design.
Your responsibilities will be:
Focal point for Piping engineering activities across the project life cycle (Concept, FEED, detailed design) to produce fit for purpose solutionsProduce cost effective Piping engineering reports, documents and deliverablesSupport and mentor junior engineers and designersEnsure all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and scheduleProvide technical assistance to others as required.At Wood, we look for innovative ideas and an agile approach to deliver the best possible outcomes and offer you an opportunity to progress and thrive by working collectively and making an active contribution.
QUALIFICATIONS You will be able to work lawfully in Australia and hold full working rights for this location.

Suitably qualified in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised institution, ideally you will have proven experience working in a similar Principal Piping Stress Engineering role, supported by 15+ years of relevant design engineering experience within the Oil & Gas production and / or processing industries.
In addition, you will:
Be recognized as an expert in piping engineering and have knowledge of advanced principles and techniques of engineering, with experience delivering within a challenging and complex multi-discipline environment.Be a leader of people with several years of supervisory experience, capable of engendering an entrepreneurial spirit of cooperation and energising diverse teams to adopt best practice, driving optimal performance with safety at the heart of everything we do.Have a professional level of knowledge of relevant regulatory framework and legislation with an ability to apply relevant technical practices, codes, and standards.Be commercially astute with a "solutions mindset", skilled in the management of risk during the design process consistent with safety, technical and commercial requirements.Be an articulate communicator (both written and verbal) including well-developed technical report writing and professional presentation skills.Have excellent knowledge of MS Office applications, spreadsheets, and commercial engineering programs.Have a passion for energy security / transition with the vision to navigate energy models of the future, coupled with your proven experience partnering with clients to be more efficient, sustainable, and optimised to deliver the best energy mix in their respective markets.Be customer focused with an ability to develop trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, while balancing operational excellence to contribute to the competitive advantage of #teamwood.
