Principal Performance Engineer Contract: 6 Months with extensions
Location: Sydney - Hybrid (2-3 days PW in office)
Daily Rate: $1000 - $1200 inclusive of super PD

We are seeking an exceptional Principal Performance Engineer to join their dynamic team and lead critical performance initiatives.

The Role

This is an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned performance engineering professional to step into a high-impact role. As a Principal Performance Engineer, you will take ownership of designing and optimising large-scale systems, ensuring they meet the demands of a rapidly evolving and high-growth environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, drive performance strategies, and mentor others to achieve operational excellence. You will be chasing milliseconds of efficiency within an organisation that handles millions of requests per day.

Responsibilities: Performance Leadership: Drive system-wide performance strategies, resolving bottlenecks, and ensuring reliability and scalability.Testing & Optimisation: Oversee performance testing efforts, develop performance benchmarks, and fine-tune applications, databases, and infrastructure.Monitoring & Diagnostics: Implement robust performance monitoring tools and practices, enabling proactive identification of potential issues.Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with software development, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to integrate performance best practices throughout the development lifecycle.Innovation: Identify and implement emerging technologies to continuously improve system performance.Mentorship: Lead and mentor engineering teams to elevate performance standards across the organisation.Experience 10+ years of experience in performance engineering, particularly in high-volume, low-latency environments.Advanced skills in optimising large-scale distributed systems, databases, and networks.Tool Proficiency: Hands-on experience with tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, Dynatrace, New Relic, Grafana, and similar platforms.Strong knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C++) and scripting for automation.Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and an in-depth understanding of operating systems and distributed architectures.On Offer A highly competitive daily rate contract with extensions up to 18 monthsA chance to work on cutting-edge technology in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.Large program of work with a globally recognised organisation that handles millions of requests per day. #J-18808-Ljbffr
