About the RoleThis role will be critical as we look to embed the work we have done in pay equity and enhance pay transparency across our organisation globally. This role is crucial to the delivery of our inclusion & diversity objectives – we are looking for someone who has deep Reward experience, and a real passion for ensuring equity in pay and benefits.
This role will also be responsible for the design and development of global pay transparency and pay equity frameworks, processes, and tools to rectify pay disparities, support attraction and retention of talent, enhance reward program communication, and cultivate an environment of fairness and equity, ensuring a more transparent and inclusive workplace. As a technical subject matter expert in pay transparency, you will provide support for the execution and delivery of these programs across BHP in line with relevant country regulations/legislation, global best practice and business strategy.
Key accountabilities will include:
Primarily responsible for leading the design, development and implementation of a global pay transparency program (including pay equity), frameworks, processes, tools and materials.Change impact assessments of existing pay practices including change management planning and execution.Evaluation of job architecture, pay structures and pay practices (including benchmarking) to enhance transparency and equity.Review recruitment processes and propose changes to incorporate pay transparency frameworks, mitigate bias and the creation of pay gaps.Education programs for leaders and employees to build employee trust and engagement about BHP's reward philosophy and practices.Create employee feedback channels and continuously measure the impact of pay transparency initiatives by monitoring key indicators like employee engagement, retention rates, and overall satisfaction; ensuring continued compliance, market competitiveness and alignment to business strategy.Consider the impact of pay transparency/equity in the context of diversity, bias and, where relevant, protected groups, in order to improve equity and inclusion.Coordination of required change management, engagement and communication approach for the business (which may differ based on country requirements).Provide specialist technical advice and coaching support to global Reward and HR teams on pay transparency/equity, and contribute to the strategic design and implementation of other global reward and HR programs and policies that impact pay transparency/equity.Understand the changing global landscape for pay transparency and anticipate future changes; scan and critically evaluate external practices incorporating a purpose- and future-fit design for BHP.Engage vendors/consultants as required to support the framework design and review processes. Support the management of vendor selection, contracts, budgets, and performance to maximise operational and financial outcomes.About YouExperience with the management and understanding of reward programs and relevant reward processes and pay components.Strong organisational skills and ability to handle numerous tasks simultaneously while prioritising and meeting deadlines.Excellent communication skills, high attention to detail, and strong analytical skills.Proficiency in use of the Microsoft Office suite, in particular Microsoft Excel.
