About the role: As the Principal Ore Haulage, Haulroad & ROM you will manage and coordinate the ore delivery from Mungari's regional stockpiles to the site operations ROM, and into the mill ensuring targets are met in the most cost-effective and safe way.
Reporting to the Manager of Surface Mining and Operational Readiness you will hit the ground running in our fast-paced environment.
A typical swing will see you carrying out the below activities:
Review and assess ore haulage and ROM management contracts and agreements, to ensure compliance with terms and conditions. Evaluate and validate contractor cost submissions, change orders, and claims to ensure they are justified and within budgetary constraints. Implement cost control measures and identify areas for cost reduction without compromising operational efficiency or safety. Manage the setup, logistics and tasks assignments for the ROM and regional stockpiles. Communicate effectively with contractors and suppliers to address issues and resolve disputes. Assist in developing the weekly ore haulage strategy with Operational Planner. Monitor the utilisation of ancillary equipment, such as loaders, excavators, rock breakers, water carts, and graders to meet the ore delivery and feed strategy. Develop & implement ore haulage and ROM management procedures. This position is only available residentially (roster 5:2:4:3 (10-hour day) and therefore you must already reside in the Kalgoorlie/Boulder area or be willing to relocate for the position.
Relocation support will be provided to candidates within Australia only.
About you: You will be an individual who is driven to achieve optimal outcomes whilst always making safety your priority.
Effective relationship building and a robust commercial acumen is essential when demonstrating the below attributes;
Strong understanding of ore haulage, logistics practices and cost management principles. Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership position within a mineral processing environment. Experience with ROM Pad operations/management, Ore haulage, sorting crushing & road management (beneficial although not essential). Ability to communicate difficult decisions and to negotiate outcomes in the interest of the business. Strong attention to detail when reviewing contractor performance. Strong analytical and report writing skills (including spreadsheet and database development). Competent user of Pronto, MS Word and Excel. Effective time and priority management. Be team-focused, collaborative and prepared to listen to feedback. What we offer:
