Description About the role We are currently seeking a Senior or Principal level Environmental Scientist, Contaminated Land to join our Geosciences team in WA.
You will provide strategic and practical solutions to clients with environmental management challenges and will be responsible for working in and building the contaminated land stream.
This will include actively pursuing contaminated land and waste management projects and contributing to the overall strategic goals of the business unit.
This role is based in our Perth office.

Day to day tasks would involve: Undertaking preliminary and detailed contaminated land assessments, preparing site management plans and remediation action plansConducting investigations including soil, vapour, surface water, wastewater and groundwater assessmentsPreparation and negotiation of bids and fee proposalsInitiate, plan, lead and execute complex contaminated land/waste projectsProviding mentoring and technical oversight to the contaminated land/waste teamEngaging with clients and other disciplinary teams to determine innovative solutions to complex environmental problemsProvision of commercial oversight to projects to ensure favourable financial results.To be successful for this role you'll need: Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science/Engineering, Hydrogeology or GeologyExperience in contaminated land with exposure to a wide range of environmental and engineering situationsDemonstrated experience in site supervision, managing site investigations and various sampling methods including soil and groundwaterKnowledge of environmental drawing techniques, field work assignment methodologies and processesKnowledge of NEPM as well as health & safety best practice principlesStrong knowledge of the contaminated land provisions within WA planning and environmental legislationWell-developed report writing skillsStrong business acumen to manage projects commercially and to create meaningful relationships with clientsDemonstrated experience in use of relevant software e.g TuflowValid/current driver's licence and the ability to travel to sites for field workThis position includes both office and field work and applicants must be physically able to stand and work in the field.
