About the role The Principal Planning Engineer (Open Pit) will unlock the value of Evolution Mining's portfolio through consolidated strategic planning of our Open Pit assets and the delivery of the Life of Mine Plan for CGO and MGO within the Long Term Planning function.
This role is responsible for providing specialist Mining Engineer technical support, underground and/or open cut, to Assets and Group functions. In addition to providing technical support the role also identifies opportunities for value accretion across the business, supporting the development of ongoing and new projects and providing guidance on current Evolution and global best practice and innovation in Mine Planning.
Provide specialist Mine Planning support, Open Pit and/or Underground, to operations and functionsMaintain good relationships with site Planning and Operational teams and ensure the GTS Mining team is abreast of current performance and issues at sitesDevelop and coordinate Mining Engineering standards and guidelines and liaise with operations to implementProvide technical peer review of capital requests, studies, reports & board papersProvide specialist technical support for Group level directional studiesMeasure, track and review compliance to company & industry Mine Planning and Operational standards (as assigned)Lead, facilitate and participate RCA & technical investigations as requiredMonitor Group level Planning & Operational KPI's to assist in the development and execution of the Group Level improvement process to identify and deliver value improvementAbout you To succeed in this position, you will drive innovation within Evolution and identify operation Mining Engineering opportunities through a continuous improvement framework. You will also require:
Bachelor's degree in Mining EngineeringPost-graduate qualification in a related or relevant discipline preferredApplicability for Member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy or similar professional affiliationMinimum 10 years in metalliferous operations, Mining Engineering (Planning and Operations) with a strong background in gold and/or copperUnderground experience key to role however experience with Open Pit also well-regardedDemonstrated success in delivering improvement and transformationAt Evolution, as our name suggests, change and transformation is in our DNA.
