The Opportunity As the Principal Mechanical Engineer - Mining, you will lead and grow our mechanical technical discipline, ensuring profitability, timely delivery, and client satisfaction.
You will assist in the development and implementation of the business plan and contribute to growing the Energy & Resources Business.
This role involves providing technical leadership to complex multi-disciplinary mining projects, guiding, supporting, and mentoring engineers, designers, clients, and stakeholders to deliver significant programs of work.
This position requires a significant component of marketing and business development with external and internal clients, interacting throughout Stantec's global organization and with professional organizations.

Qualifications To be successful in this role: Bachelor's degree in engineering – Mechanical.Minimum 12 years of progressively responsible technical and management experience.Professional registration and commitment to gain appropriate Australian registration.Project Management experience and certifications.Development of a strong network in the local and national marketplace.Exceptional organisational, technical, leadership, written, and oral communication skills.You will have proven experience in successfully delivering complex projects, working with high-performing teams.
Excellent organisation and time management skills are a given, along with a high level of financial competency, and an ability to prioritise tasks and multi-task to ensure deadlines are achieved.
