About the RoleOur Asset Management & Engineering, Earth Moving Equipment Contracts team are seeking a Principal Maintenance Contracts. Working with a network of stakeholders, this role will work collaboratively across category management, (region, global and sub-functions), operational maintenance teams & MECOE stakeholders in region to deliver the business plan.
This role is based in our corporate Brisbane offices offered on Monday to Friday roster, with requirement to travel to BMA operations and BMA vendors in the Central QLD region at various times per month.
You will also be responsible for:
Managing performance of high value regional service, global mining equipment & maintenance contracts for BMA Asset Managing complex supplier relationships that target contract value through product & service performance, innovation, continuous improvement, commercial partnerships with a BOS mindset to optimise total value of ownership for BMA Actively contributes to a high performing team culture, where we strive to do what's right and seek better ways to drive value for the business Regular facilitation of stakeholder forums to build strong, cross-functional relationships, monitor performance and drive positive outcomes Seek the voice of our customer to ensure vendor performance and department strategies are aligned with business priorities Executes all professional activities in accordance with BHP's Charter, Our Code, Our requirements, relevant statutory obligations and BHP's Procurement Processes and Procedures in contract management & compliance Driving collaboration with stakeholders across the region to identify and execute opportunities to reduce external spend & deliver performance improvements Effective communication of strategies to all levels of external & internal stakeholders, from senior leadership to frontline operations About YouWe have a strong focus on finding individuals with the right values, leadership and communication skills. You will have 3-5 plus years of experience in managing equipment performance or similar role within the mining or comparable industry Relevant tertiary qualifications, trade qualification and or experience as maintenance professional in asset performance or reliability discipline with Tier 1 products Ability to manage contractors, lead and influence stakeholders across multiple geographical regions to deliver complex solutions Strong commercial acumen and ability to support the development and implementation of complex asset solutions and category strategies Demonstrated experience in negotiation and contract management Proven engagement and collaboration skills and experience managing internal and external stakeholders to drive optimal business outcomes Capability to identify risks and appropriate controls to prevent business impacts - Be active in safety engagements and field leadership Exercises sound judgement and critical thinking to enable business success Approaches work with a strategic mind-set including the ability to identify new opportunities and drive them to implementation A change advocate with the ability to work autonomously Proficient in MS Office Suite of products, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint Passionate about making a difference About Our Process At BHP, we are committed to employing individuals who align with the BHP Charter Values and meet the requirements of the role.
