Neutral Bay Public School (694 enrolment with 37%EALD) is situated close to the busy commercial area of Neutral Bay. Following the opening of 19 new classrooms in 2025, it is anticipated that student enrolments will continue to increase to the school's capacity of 809.
Established in 1886, the school has a long tradition of academic excellence and is proud of its outstanding reputation for providing quality programs in all curricula as well as band, sport, languages, public speaking and student leadership.
The school has enquiring and enthusiastic students, motivated and dedicated staff and supportive and committed parents and carers. Opportunity classes for academically able students in Years 5 and 6 offer extension and enrichment programs. The school has a strong focus on student wellbeing, Positive Behaviour for Learning and Visible Learning. All students are encouraged to be active participants in their own learning. Educational programs aim to develop each student's academic, social, creative, physical, cultural and citizenship ability. Both the School Council and P & C are well supported by staff, parents and the wider community.
Through the Quality Teaching Model both literacy and numeracy levels are enhanced utilising evidence-based, high-impact teaching strategies and collaborative practice that drives collective efficacy and supports individualised and differentiated learning.

Selection Criteria In addition to the general selection criteria:
A highly visible, accessible and collaborative leader with demonstrated capacity to support existing strong partnerships with students, staff, parents/carers and the wider community. Demonstrated strategic leadership with the capacity to develop and evaluate whole school quality teaching underpinned by evidenced based practice to improve all student outcomes. Demonstrated capacity to inspire and support innovative educational practices that enhance collective efficacy in the current and future climate of educational change while ensuring the wellbeing of staff and the entire school community. Experience in developing and delivering effective and proactive wellbeing practices across the whole school and wider community with internal and external knowledge experts, to effectively address complex student needs. General Selection Criteria High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people. Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

The Crown Employees (Teachers in Schools and Related Employees) Salaries and Conditions Award 2020 details the new principal classification structure based on complexity of schools which commenced in 2016. Please refer to the information regarding the Classification Structure for Principals.
The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school's RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is Principal Level P3 for 2024 and also for 2025.
Applicants are to include details of their WWCC clearance number as part of this application.
