Position Information Toronto Public School is situated in West Lake Macquarie and has an enrolment of 192 students.
In 2024, the school has 8 mainstream classes and 3 special education classes (EI, MC and ED).
34% of students identify as Aboriginal and 7% of students are from non-English speaking backgrounds.
The school strives to create and maintain an inclusive nature and endeavours to create an environment where all students thrive.
The school has strong links with Mankillikan, the local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG), the Toronto Learning Community and a range of external stakeholders, providing opportunities for students and staff to collaborate in a variety of activities beyond the school gates.
The school has strong community support for our Reconciliation Action Plan, with community voice driving our areas of focus for Aboriginal Education.

Selection Criteria In addition to the general selection criteria,
Highly visible, approachable and collaborative leader with outstanding communication and organisational skills, who inspires and empowers staff, working closely with local principals and schools. Demonstrated success in the development, implementation and evaluation of the School Improvement Plan (SIP), with proven capacity to lead the school for continuous improvement. Proven ability to cultivate an inclusive school culture that supports the well-being of students and staff, effectively managing the complexity of diverse needs across the entire school community. Capacity to facilitate and provide high level professional learning to enhance staff capacity and foster genuine relationships to build sustained team efficacy. Proven capacity and capability to collaborate effectively with the broader school community, including the local AECG and P&C, to strengthen the school's reputation for excellence, engagement, and inclusivity. General Selection Criteria High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people. Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.

The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school's RAM allocation.
As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis.
The principal classification for this school is Principal Level P2 for 2024 and also for 2025.
Applicants are to include details of their WWCC clearance number as part of this application.
