Principal (Level 8) - Queensland Virtual AcademyEducation (Organisation site)Metropolitan South Region, Early Childhood and State Schools DivisionApplications are invited for the permanent full-time position of Principal, Queensland Virtual Academy (QVA), an educational institution offering a state-wide virtual learning service.The Principal, QVA will provide high-level management and oversight of the operations and implementation planning to facilitate the expansion of the QVA. The role requires an ability to lead and manage projects and the operation of an educational institution in line with government processes and policies, and to deliver program outcomes with excellence in client service delivery.As the Principal, Queensland Virtual Academy (QVA) you will play a key role in leading its establishment and expansion.The QVA is enhancing equity of access to curriculum programs and learning experiences for Queensland students by delivering future-focused virtual learning that connects students and teachers across the state.You will be responsible for:Leading all areas of program expansion, operations and management to ensure timely delivery of project outcomes including resourcing, staff management, policy formulation and delivery of associated corporate strategies.Negotiate and facilitate opportunities and solutions, and influence decision making related to QVA services.Establish and maintain strong engagement and communication with diverse stakeholder groups.Develop and prepare high-level communications to make informed recommendations to senior management that align with departmental objectives.Establish and maintain strong governance practices including identifying, monitoring and reporting on risk, providing high-level strategic advice aligned to policies and procedures, leading project planning and reporting on project implementation and outcomes, establishing and implementing appropriate decision-making governance arrangements for the program.Lead all elements of the project in collaboration with senior executives, regional staff, school leaders including management of the program budget and deliverables within timelines.You will work directly with the School Supervisor and the project governance team.Lead strong financial program management practices including resources and financial project management.Monitor, report and evaluate program outcomes in accordance with program measures.Identify, monitor and report on risk factors and provide advice to senior executives to resolve issues and achieve effective solutions within budget.Stakeholder and outcome:Research, monitor and report on program developments to support expansion and implementation of QVA services which will include the operations within QVA Central, Brisbane and the virtual delivery of services state-wide.Build and sustain effective networks with colleagues, schools, and key stakeholders within and across the Department and externally.Develop high-level communications including reports, briefing materials and project plans for senior executives.Internal business:Foster high-quality collaboration, communication and information sharing to support the delivery of the QVA services.Engage effectively and collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver the vision of the department.Ensure that the reputation and interests of the department are maintained and strong governance practices are applied across the QVA services.Prepare high-quality advice including briefing materials, correspondence, reports and project plans for a range of audiences.Learning and growth:Proactively develop, analyse and monitor plans, performance outcomes and risks at program level, including in implementation to inform quality practice and improvement.Model and promote public service professionalism by advocating a culture of achievement, resilience and excellence across all areas of responsibility.
